Asynchronous Circuit

An asynchronous circuit operates without a synchronizing clock signal. State changes within the circuit are not synchronised and occur in direct response to input signal changes. Elements within the circuit can change state at different times. Transmission between asynchronous circuits may use techniques such as handshaking.
