General Purpose Input Output (GPIO)

A simple pin connection between an integrated circuit or circuit board that can switch to either input or output. The General Purpose Input Output represents a single physical input/output pin and multiple GPIO pins can be used in a block.

There is no single compliance standard for GPIO pin operation.
